1956 RESOLUTION NO. 1955 A RESOLUTION FIXING THE DATE I'OR A PUBLIC HEARING ON A PETITION TO VACATE AND ABANDON SANTA FE AVENUE RUNNING EAST AND WEST BETWEEN HARRISON AND TYLER STREETS AND B r;I NG BOUNDED ON THE NORTH BY LOTS 8 AND 9 IN BLOCK 11 OF C. 0. BRACK'S ADDITION TO ThE CITY OF LITTT.F ROCK, AND ON THE SOUTH BY A PARCEL OF LAND LYING IN THE NE4 OF THE NW-1- OF SECTION 18, TOWNSHIP 1 NORTH, RANGE 12 WEST IN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, PULASKI COUNTY, ARKANSAS, FORMERLY USED AS RAILROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY BY LITL'LE ROCK-MAUMELLE AND WESTERN RAILROAD AND MISSOURI-PACII'IC RAILROAD, ALL THE AFORESAID LAND BOUNDING SANTA FE AVENUE ON THE NORTH AND ON THE SOUTH BEING OvvNED BY THE PETITIONER HEREIN; PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION OF NOTICES THEREOF, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. ' WHEREAS a petition was duly filed by J. T. Leman with the City Council of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, on the 30th of March , 1953 , asking that the City Council vacate and abandon all that portion of Santa Fe Avenue running East and West between Harrison and Tyler Streets and being bounded on the North by Lots 8 and 9 in Block 11 of C. 0. BRACK 'S ADDITION and on the South by a parcel of land lying in the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 18, Township 1 North, Range 12 West, in the City of Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas , formerly used as railroad right-of-way by Little Rock-Maumelle and Western Railroad and Missouri-Pacific Railroad, and being more particularly described as follows : Beginning at northeast corner of Block 12 of C. O. BRACK'S ADDITION to the City of Little Rock, thence North 75 feet more or less, to a point 20 feet South of southeast corner of Block 11 of said addition and on South line of Santa Fe Avenue as shown on plat of said addition, thence in a northwesterly direction parallel to and 20 feet distant from South line of said Block 11 and follow- ing South Line of said Santa Fe Avenue to a point 20 feet South of southwest corner of said Block 11, thence South 75 feet more or less to northwest corner of Block 12 of said addition, thence southeasterly along North line of said Block 12, to point of beginning; all the aforesaid land being owned by the petitioner for the abandonment of Santa Fe Avenue; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS : -2- That the 13th day of April , 1953, be fixed as the date for the hearing upon the petition to vacate and abandon the aforesaid Santa Fe Avenue, said street running East and West between Harrison and Tyler Streets and being bounded on the North by Lots 8 and 9 in Block 1 1 of C . U. BRACK'S ADDITION and on the South by a parcel of land lying in the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 18, Township 1 North, Range 12 West, in the City of Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas , formerly used as railroad right-of-way by Little Rock-Maumelle and V,estern Railroad and Missouri-Pacific Railroad, and being more particularly described as follows : Beginning at northeast corner of Block 12 of C . 0. B :CK'S ADDITION to the City of Little Rock, thence north ?5 feet more or less, to a point 20 feet south of southeast corner of Block 11 of said addition and on south line of Santa Fe Avenue as shown on plat of said addition, thence in a northwesterly direction parallel to and 20 feet distant from south line of said Block 11 and follow- ing south line of said Santa Fe Avenue to a point 20 feet south of southwest corner of said flock 11, thence south 75 feet more or less to northwest corner of Block 12 of said addition, thence south- easterly along north line of said Block 12, to point of beginning. The City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice of said meeting by publication once a week for two consecutive weeks in some newspaper published in Pulaski County and having a general circulation in the City of Little Rock, Arkan.a.s. The notice shall state the names of the persons who sign the petition and the name or description of the street or portion of street to be vacated and advise all persons that on a day therein named the Council will hear and determine whether Santa Fe Avenue shall be vacated.
