1950 RESOLUTION NO. 1950
A RESOLUTION TURNING OVER TO THE FIRE D EPARTPviENT,FOR THE
PURPOSE OF BUILDING A FIRE STATION THEREON, CITY-OWNED
PROPERTY BOUNDED ON THE NORTH BY EAST ROOSEVELT ROAD, ON
THE WEST BY WELCH STREET, ON THE SOUTH BY EAST 26th STREET
AND ON THE EAST BY CONFEDERATE BOULEVARD, AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS the people of the City of Little Rock have approved
a bond issue for the purpose of providing money for additional fire
stations for i;ne City of Little Rock; and
WHEriEAS/ an inspection has reflected that there is need for
a fire station in the vicinity of East Roosevelt Road; and
WHEREAS the City of Little Rock owns property in this
vicinity which is appropriate for use for building a fire station
thereon:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CI'T'Y COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That property owned by the City of Little Rock,
described as follows :- Property bounded on the North by East Roosevelt
Road, on the West by Welch Street, on the South by East 26th Street and
on the East by Confederate Boulevard, be assigned to the Little Rock
Fire Department for the purpose of building a fire station thereon and
for such other use as may be necessary for the fire protection of
property located in the City of Little Rock.
SECTION 2. Be it further resolved that the Fire Department
be fully authorized to take any and all necessary steps for the purpose
of implementing and carrying out the building of a fire station on the
aforesaid described property.
SECTION 3. That this resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption by the City Council and approval by
the Mayor.
