A RESOLUTION COL ENDING THE SERVICE OF SA Y.. WASSELL AS
LAYOR OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, AND PLEDGING CO :OPERATION
WITH THE INC OI, ING r:AYOR, PRATT C . REHLiEL; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES .
WH HEAS, This date, December 17, 1951, marks the last night
that the Honorable Sam b. . dassei.l, outgoing Mayor of the City of Little
Rock, will preside over a meeting of the City Council, and,
WHEREAS, he has served his City and its people as Tayor for a
period of two terms , and served as a member of the City Council for sev -
eral years , and,
WHEhEAS, The r embers of the Council believe that he has always
supported those measures designed to promote the welfare of the City, and,
WHEEAS, he has looked upon the several elective and appointive
governmental offices he has occupied as public trusts , and.,
WHEREAS, :emoers of the City Council were oftentimes found to
be in honest differences of opinion with the views held by the . Sam
. Wassell, and,
WHEREAS, No member of the Ci t;, Council, or to our knowledge ,
no citizen of the City of Little Rock has ever advanced cause to question
the honesty or sincerity of Hr. Wassell, NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COU NCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
respectfully rise as one to recognize this faithful public servant, and, oe
it further
RESOLVED, That the members of the City Council greet the in-
coming Chief Executive of our City, the i=on. Pratt C . Re,_mel, and offer
him our sincere cooperation on all measures designed to promote the wel -
fare and best interests of the citizens of Little Rock.
