RESOLUTION NO. 1913
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO TRADE CERTAIN PROPERTIES OWNED BY IT
TO BISHOP ALBERT L. FLETCHER FOR PROPERTIES °F NED
BY HIM; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, The City of Little Rock now owns certain properties in the
Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 33, Township 2 North,
Range 12 West, Pulaski County, Arkansas, which lies adjacent to and South of
property owned by Albert L. Fletcher, Roman Catholic Bishop of Little Rock; and
WHEREAS, property so owned by the City extends Westward to a very
sharp point so narrow in width North and South that little use can be made of it
for any purpose; and
y`tHIREAS, the said Bishop owns property lying immediately North of and
adjacent to this property; and
WHEREAS, by exchanging the sharp point of the City property to the
Bishop in exchange for a more compact piece of property lying North of the East
part of the City's property a more compact body of land can be acquired with a
railroad siding and likewise highway frontage which would be serviceable to the
City for commerical purposes where a highway would be needed or where railroad
siding would be desired; and
WHEREAS, it would be to the advantage of the City of Little Rock to
make the exchange of said properties with the Bishop of Little Rock so as to
acquire the compact useable piece of land with railroad siding traded on an equal
acre per acre basis; and
WHEREAS, the Bishop has indicated his consent to make same at the
request of the Water Department;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the Mayor and City Clerk be and they are hereby
authorized to execute the deed of the City of Little Rock to Albert L. Fletcher,
Roman Catholic Bishop of Little Rock of the following described property, to-wit:
Part of the SW4 SM Section 33, Township 2 North, Range 12 West,
Pulaski County, Arkansas, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the North line of the
SW4 Ski of Section 33, Township 2 North, Range 12 Lest, with the
North right-cf-way line of Cantrell Road (Arkansas State Highway
No. 10), which point of beginning is 392.1 feet East of the North-
west Corner of the aforesaid SK-211- Sff* Section 33, Township 2 North,
Range 12 T1lest; thence in a Southeasterly direction along the
North right-of-way line of Cantrell Road (Arkansas State Highway
No. 10) for a distance of 386 feet; thence North 24 degrees, 4.4
minutes East for a distance of 100.6 feet to a point on the afore-
said North line of the SW* SW Section 33, Township 2 North,

Range 12 West, which point is 810.6 feet East of the
Northwest Corner of the SW4 SV74 of Section 33, Township
2 North, Range 12 West; thenceWest along the aforesaid
North line of the Sti"k 4 SW4 Section 33, Township 2 North,
Range 12 Nest, for a distance of 418.5 feet, to the point
of beginning; containing 0..45 acres, more or less.
in exchange for a warranty deed from Albert L. Fletcher, Roman Catholic
Bishop of Little Rock, to the City of Little Rock, for the use and benefit
of the Little Rock Municipal Water Works of the following described lands,
to-wit:
Part of the NW4 SW-1,i Section 33, Township 2 North, Range
12 West, Pulaski County, more particularly described as
follows: Beginning at a point on the South line of the
Nfi14 SW4 Section 33, Township 2 North, Range 12 West, which
point of beginning is 810.6 feet East of the Southwest
Corner of the aforesaid NW4 SW4 Section 33, Township 2
North, Range 12 Test; thence North 24 degrees 44 minutes
East for a distance of 160.5 feet to the South right-of-
way lineof the C. R. I. & P. Railroad; thence in a
Southeasterly direction along the South right-of-way line
of the C. R. I. & P. Railroad for a distance of 249 feet
to the South line of the NW4 STi of Section 33, Township
2 North, Range 12 West; thence Test along the South line
of the NW* SYPTi of Section 33, Township 2 North, Range 12
West, for a distance of 269.6 feet to the point of be-
ginning; containing 0.45 acres, more or less.
