A RESOLUTION FIXING A DATE FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON A
PETITION TO VACATE AND ABANDON THE ALLEY RUNNING NORTH
AND SOUTH BETWEEN AND PARALLEL TO LEWIS AND ELM STREETS
AND LOCATED IIUIEDIATELY EAST AND ADJACENT TO LOTS 1 and
16, BLOCK 1, RIFFEL AND HOLDER 'S ADDITION TO TIE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS; PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION
OF NOTICES THEREOF; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, a petition was duly filed by Garland Amusement Corporation
and Safeway Stores, Incorporated, with the City Council of the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas, on the 26th day of June, 1950, asking that the City Council vacate and
abandon all of the alley located immediately East of and adjacent to Lots 1 and
16, Block 1, Riffel & Holder 's Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, be-
ginning at the South line of West 28th Street and running South 279 feet to the
North line of West 29th Street.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS, that the 24 day of July, 1950, be fixed as the date for the hear-
ing upon the petition to vacate and abandon the aforementioned alley, and the City
Clerk is hereby directed to give notice of said meeting by publication once a week
for two consecutive weeks in some newspaper published in Pulaski County and having
a general circulation in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas. The notice shall state
the name of the persons who sign the petition and the description of the alley to
be vacated by designating the lots abutting thereto, and advise all persons that
on a said day therein named the Council will hear and determine whether the alley
shall be vacated.
