RESOLUTION NO. 1868
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND THE
PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE TO REQUEST A HEARING WITH THE
STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSION II' AN EFFORT TO GET SAID COU1I-
ISSION TO MAINTAIN ThE PA\EMENT AND DRAINAGE OF CERTAIN
STREETS WITHIN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK VVIIICf ARE DESIGNAT-
ED AS CONTINUATIONS OF STATE t IGIL AYS, AND FOR OTHER PUR-
POSES .
WHEREAS, There are certain streets within the City of
Little Rock which are designated as continuations of State main-
tained highways , and
WHEREAS, Such streets are in dire need of certain repair
work, and
WHEREAS , The City of Little Rock feels that the State
shoula pay fcr the maintenance of said pavement and drainage
facilities along said streets ,
NO; THI,REFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF ThE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS :
SECTION 1. That the Mayor and Public Works Committee of
the City Council of the City of Little Rock are hereby direct-
ed to seek an audience with the Arkansas State IIic hway Commiss-
ion in an effort to obtain State maintenance for drainage and
pavement of certain streets within the City of Little Rock
which are designated as continuations of State highways , in-
cluding certain designated streets used as truck routes .
SECTION 2. That a copy of this resolution shall be trans-
mitted to the Chairman of the Arkansas State Highway Department
RS an indication of the desire of the City of Little Rock to
bring this matter before said commission at its next meeting.
