A RESOLUTION GRANTING PERMISSION TO THE LITTLE ROCi`: ORGANIZATION OF THE
MARCH OF DIMES TO USE LOUD SPEAKERS IN CONNECTION MTH SOLICITATION FOR
FUNDS FOR A PERIOD OF THREE DAYS DURING THEIR 1950 CAMPAIGN.

WHEREAS, the State of Arkansas and the City of Little Rock
has been visited with a terrible polio epidemic which has exhausted
the resources of the local, as well as the National, funds for care
and treatment of children stricken with infantile paralysis; and
'IEREAS, the 1950 March of Dimes will be inaugurated in the
City of Little Rock and nationally during the -month of January,
1950; and
7vHEREAS, the Arkansas Junior 'chamber of Commerce and the
United States Army have offered to cooperate with the Little Rock
organization of the March of Dimes and to assist in this worthy
and charitable cause; and
WHEREAS, in connection therewith, it is desirable that said
organizations be permitted to use loud speakers on the streets of
Little Hock on three (3) days daring the course of the March of
Dimes Drive:
NOV, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Little Rock organi-
zation of the iaarch of Dimes for care of victims stricken with in-
fantile paralysis, in cooperation with the Arkansas Junior Chamber
of Cor,L:ierce and the United States Army, be and they are hereby
authorized and permitted to use loud speakers on the streets of
the City of Little Rock on three ( 3) days in 1950 during the March
of Dimes Drive.
