1856 RESOLUTION NO. 1856
A RESOLUTION SETTING A DATE FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PRO-
POSED CLOSING OF AN ALLEY IN BLOCK TWO, FAIRGROUNDS ADDITION; AN
ALLEY IN BLOCK THREE, FAIRGROUNDS ADDITION; AND THAT PART OF EAST
EIGHTH STREET BETWEEN CALHOUN AND APPERSON STREETS, ALL IN THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION OF NOTICE OF
PUBLIC HEARING; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES;
WHEREAS, the Little Rock Sch-ool District of Pulaski County ,
Arkansas , claiming to be the sole owner of Blocks Two (2) and Three
(3 ) , Fairgrounds Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas , which
blocks abut on the north and south sides, respectively, of that portion
of East Eighth Street between the east line of Calhoun Street and the
west line of Apperson Street, has filed a petition with the City
Council requesting the Council to vacate such portion of said East
Eighth Street and the alley in each block, and under the law the
Council is required to fix a day for a hearing on such petition and to
direct the City Clerk to give notice of the hearing by publication:
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE .ROCK, ARKANSAS, that the petition be heard at a meeting of the
Council to be held on the 19th day of December, 1949, at 8 :00 o' clock,
P.M. ; and that the City Clerk be, and he is, hereby directed to pub-
lish once a week for two consecutive weeks in a newspaper published in
Pulaski County and having a general circulation in Little Rock, Arkan-
sas , a notice of the hearing in substantially the following form:
NOTICE OF HEARING BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PETITION
TO VACATE A PORTION OF EAST EIGHTH STREET AND TWO ALLEYS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Little Rock School District
of Pulaski County, Arkansas , claiming to be the sole owner of
Blocks Two (2) and Three (3) , Fairgrounds Addition to the City
of Little Rock, Arkansas , which blocks abut on the north and
south sides , respectively, of that portion of East Eighth
Street between the east line of Calhoun Street and the west
line of Apperson Street, has filed a petition with the City
Council requesting the Council to vacate such portion of said
East Eighth Street and the alley in each block.
At a meeting of the City Council to be held at
o' clock, P.M. , on the day of 1949, the
Council will hear and determine whether such portion of East

sons interested will be heard.
