1844 RESOLUTION NO. 1844.
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE LITTLE ROCK PUBLIC HOUSING
AUTHORITY TO ACT AS THE AGENT FOR THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK
TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CLEARANCE OF BLIGHTED AREAS UNDER
THE TERMS AND PROVISIONS OF THE HOUSING ACT OF 1949.
bHEREAS,
The Little Rock Housing Authority having been created pursuant
to Act 212 of the General Assembly of 1945 of the State of Arkan-
sas and is endowed with certain powers and authority by virtue of
said act, and
WHEREAS,
Under the terms and provisions of the Housing Act of 1949 of the
81st Congress the Little Rock Housing Authority is a local body
capable of participating in the program established by said Act
for the clearance of blighted areas, and
WHEREAS,
There is a definite need for the clearance of blighted areas in
the City of Little Rock in order to protect the health and safety
of the citizens,
NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS :
SECTION 1. The Little Rock Housing Authority is hereby des-
ignated as the agency for the City of Little Rock to do such
things and perform such duties as may be necessary for the City
of Little Rock to participate in the program established by the
Housing Act of 1949 of the 81st Congress, and particularly the
prograr_ established by Title 1 of said Act.
SECTION 2. The Little Rock Housing Authority will be guided
in its functions in the performance of these duties by the wishes
and desires of the Little Rock City Council.
