1790 RESOLUTION NO. 1790
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE LEASING OF REAL ESTATE TO THE UNITED
STATES GOVERNMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock in the State of Arkansas
is the owner of the following described real property comprising a
portion of Adams Field situate in Pulaski County, State of Arkansas:
Commencing at an iron pin marking the Southwest corner of
the El of NE* of Section 12, Township 1 North, Range 12
West of the 5th Principal iieridian; thence S. 84° 45 ' W.
along the East and West Section Line of said Section, said
line being the center line of 17th Street a distance of
874.1 feet to a point ; thence N. 5° 28' W. a distance of
27.3 feet to a one-half inch iron pin as the beginning
point of this plot; thence N. 5° 28 ' W. a distance of 544.4
feet to a point; thence N. 84° 32' E. a distance of 454 feet
to a point; thence S. 5° 28' E. a distance of 344.4 feet to
a point; thence east 450' to a point on the extension of the
West line of Harrington Avenue; thence South 200' along said
extension to a point on the north line of 17th Street; thence
West 904' along said North line of 17th Street to the point
of beginning,
and
WHEREAS, the United States of America desires the use of
said property for the purpose of storage for aircraft and for other
Governmental purposes in connection with the use and maintenance of
the Arkansas National Guard; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and the City Council of the City of
Little Rock deem it advisable and to the mutual interest of both
the City and the Government to grant a lease to the Government for
a period ending 30 June 1948, automatically renewable until 30 June
1953 , with a proviso that the Government may terminate the lease by
giving 30 days written notice of such intention.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor is hereby
authorized and directed to offer the Government a lease on the
property described herein for the consideration aforesaid, and to
execute, acknowledge and deliver a proper lease, together with any
and all papers necessary to complete said transaction upon approval
of theapers and instruments by the City Attorney.
