1772 RESOLUTION NO. 1772 A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 1747 ADOPTED AND APPROVED ON THE 19TH DAY OF MAY, 1947. WHEREAS, in the first paragraph of Section I of Resolu- tion No. 1747 entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A DEED FOR CERTAIN LANDS IN FAIR PARK FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A STADIUM; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES", adopted and approved on the 19th day of May, 1947, "SW4, SE4" was a typographical error for "SW4, NE4" and the Resolution should be amended so as to properly describe the tract of land authorized to be conveyed; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Little Hock, Arkansas: Section I. That Section I of said Resolution No. 1747 be, and it is nereby, amended to read as follows: "Section I. That the Mayor and City Clerk be and they are hereby authorized to execute a warranty deed to the Stadium Commission conveying to said Commission for the purpose and in consideration of the erection of a stadium in Little Rock, Arkansas, the following described lands located in the Southwest Quarter, Northeast Quarter (SW* NE4) , Section Six (6) , Township One (1) North, Range Twelve (12) West, Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas: Starting at the Northeast corner of South- west Quarter, Northeast Quarter (SW*, NE4) , Section Six (6) , Township One (1) North, Range Twelve (12) West; thence South 502 feet to a point; thence North 83° 00' West 423 feet to the point of beginning which is the Northeast corner of the tract herein described; thence continuing North 83° 00' West 700 feet to the Northwest corner of said tract; thence South 7° 001 West 700 feet to the Southwest corner of said tract; thence South 83° 00' East 700 feet to the South- east corner of said tract; thence North 7° 001 East 700 feet to the point of beginning, containing 11.25 acres more or less. " Section II. It is ascertained and declared by the City Council that the City of Little Rock lacks sufficient recreation- al facilities for its inhabitants, and that the recreation they would derive from the Stadium hereinafter referred to would be conducive to the peace and health of its inhabitants; that the Stadium Commission of Arkansas is considering construction of a large and modern stadium on the tract of land in State Fair Park owned by the city herein described; and that unless this resolution can become effective immediately the Stadium Commission will refuse to construct the stadium in the city and will locate it in another city, as the result of which the city and its inhabitants will be deprived of the stadium and its resulting benefits. it is, therefore, declared that an emergency exists, that this resolution is necessary for the imediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, and that this resolution shall take effect and be in force from an after its passage.
