A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HORACE A. ILLING
AND T. C. DIXON, DOING BUSINESS AS MABEL-
VALE BUS LINE, TO OPERATE BUSSES FROM A
POINT WITHIN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK TO
POINTS BEYOND THE LIMITS BUT WITHIN FIVE
MILES THEREOF (AS SET OUT HEREIN)
AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY
COLLECTOR TO ISSUE A PERMIT THEREFOR.
WHEREAS, upon motion duly adopted by the Council of the
City of Little Rock, Arkansas, the petition of applicants,
Horace A. Illing and T. C. Dixon, doing business as Mabelvale
Bus Line, was referred to a committee of said Council; that
said committee held a public hearing thereon on the 21st day
of March, 1947, at which hearing all persons interested or
affected by said application were given opportunity to be
heard; that said committee rendered a decision on the 21st
day of March, 1947, recommending that a permit be granted
petitioners, provided adequate service was rendered, now, there-
fore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
That the public convenience and necessity of the citizens
and residents of Little Rock and the area affected r- uires the
additional service of the class and character described in the
application or petition, as amended, of the said Horace A. Illing
and T. C. Dixon, doing business as Mabeivale Bus Line, and from
the testimony adduced it is found that:
(a) Horace A. Illing and T. C. Dixon are capable of perform-
ing a service of the quality and permanence stated in
their application;
(b) That their financial ability and moral responsibility
are sufficient;
(c) The character of vehicles to be used and the nature and
location of their depots and terminals are sufficient;
(d) The experience of applicants in similar operations is
sufficient; and
(e) That the existing service between the points proposed
to be served by applicants, viz:
Route 1: From Sixth and Louisiana Streets
south on Louisiana to West Eighth Street; west
on West Eighth Street to Battery Street; south
on Battery Street to West Twelfth Street; west
on West Twelfth Street to Fair Park Boulevard;
south on Fat Park Boulevard to intersection
with Roosevelt Boulevard; along the County Road
to Geyer Springs;
Route 2: From Sixth and Louisiana Streets
south on Louisiana Street to West Eighth Street;
Test on West Eighth Street to Broadway; south on
Broadway to Roosevelt Boulevard; west on Roose-
velt Boulevard to Arch Street Pike; south along
Arch Street Pike to Baseline Road; along Base-
line Road to Brownts Store;
is inadequate.
The City Collector of the City of Little Rock is therefore
hereby authorized and directed to issue to the said Horace A.
Illing and T. C. Dixon, doing business as Aiabelvale Bus Line,
a permit to operate busses as above set out.
