A RA SOLUTION DENYIING THE APPLICATION OF

WITHIN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK TO POINTS
B-EYOND TICE L IN ITS BUT WITHIN FIVE MILES
THEREOF AS SET OUT HEREIN.
WHEREAS, upon motion duly adopted by the Ccuncil
of the City cf Little Rock, ..rkansas, the petition of the
applicant 3. L . Santee was referred to a committee of said
Council; that said committee held a public hearing thereon on
the 7th . day of February, 1947, at which hearing all persons
interested or affected by said application weregiven opportunity
tc be heard; that said committee rendered a decision on the
10th. day of February, 1947, recommending that the application of
the said E. L . Santee be denied, now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUTICIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
That public convenience and necessity does not
require the additional service of the class and character des-
cribed in the application, and from the testimony adduced it is
found that:
(a) A superior service is offered by another carrier;
(b A part of the proposed route has been served
faithfully by another carrier during the war
years, who proposes to continue and enlarge his
service;
(c) The proposed service as described by applicant
will add nothing to the prosperity and happiness
of our citizens; and that
(d) The territory bcunding the route described in
the application as:
From the Greyhound Bus Station, located at the corner
of Sixth and Louisiana Streets, Little Rock, Arkansas, to Rock
Creek cn Twelfth Street, thence over a gravel road to Brady School,
thence left at Brady School to 9300 West Markham Street,
is adequately served.
The application of the said E . L. Santee is
therefore denied.
BE IT FURTKER RESOLVED, that at the expiration of
a. sixty day permit granted this applicant on January 27th. 1947,
the same be cancelled and shall thereafter be of no consequence.
