1729 RESOLUTION NO . 1729
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING J . O. WHITE TO
OPERATE BUSES FROM A POINT :WITHIN THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROC, TO POINTS BEYOND TICE LIMITS
BUT WITHIN FIVE NILES, THEREOF (as set cut
herein) , AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE
CITY COLLECTOR TO ISSUE A PERMIT THEREFOR.
WHEREAS, upon motion duly adopted by the Council
of the City cf Little Rock, Arkansas , the petition of applicant
J. 0. White, was referred to a committee of said Council; that
said ccnwiittee held a public hearing thereon on the 7th, day
cf February 1947, at which hearing all persons interested or
affected by said application were given opportunity to be
heard; that said committee rendered a decision on the 10th,
day of February 1947, recon mendir_g that a permit be granted
petitioner, provided adequate service was rendered, now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUN:IL. OF THE CI7YY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKA.NSXSt
That the public convenience and necessity cf the
citizens and residents of Little Rock- and the area affected
requires the additional service of the class and character
described in the application (or petition as amended) of the
said J. 0. White, and froui the testimony adduced it is found that:
(a) J. 0. White is capable of performing a service
cf the quality and permanence stated in his
application;
(b) That his financial ability and moral responsibility
are sufficient;
(c) The character of vehicles tc be used and the
nature and location of his depots and terminals
are sufficient;
(d) The experience of applicant in similar operations
is sufficient, and,
( e) That the existing service between the points
proposed to be served by applicant, viz:
From the rear of 411 Broadway via Spring Street to
Eighth ; Eighth Street tc Battery; Battery Street tc Twelfth ;
Twelfth Street tc Hayes; Hayes Street tc Markham; Markham Street
West tc end. of iarkham, and return over the same route, and from:
Rear of 411 Broadway via Spring Street to Eighth;
Eighth Street tc Battery ; Battery Street tc T welfth ; Twelfth
Street tc Rock Creek, thence via cutoff road tc Brady School and
Pilgrim 's Rest Church, and return over same route, and from:
Rear of 411 Broadway via Spring Street tc Eighth;
Eighth Street to Battery; Battery Street to Twelfth ; Twelfth
Street to "-lose Hill Church, and return over the same route,
is inadequate.

The City Collector of the City of Little Rock is
therefore hereby authorized and directed tc issue tc the said
J . 0. White, a permit to operate buses as above set cut.
