RESOLUTION PROVIDING DATE FOR PUBLIC
HEARING ON VACATING
ALLEY
WHEREAS, Gus F. Bentrup, The Long-Bell Lumber Company, a
Corporation, E. E. Russell, and Olive K. Russell, his wife, have
petitioned the Mayor and City Council of tie City of Little Rock,
Arkansas, to vacate an alley ten feet wide running through the
center of Block 4, Remelts Addition to the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas, parallel with Asher Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the said petitioners assert themselves to be the
owners of all lots abutting on the said alley; and
7,4E EAS, there is attached to the petition of the said
petitioners a photostatic copy of the plat of said Block 4, Rem_nelts
Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, showing the property
asserted to be owned by petitioners and the alley to be vacated;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Little Rock
will, at its meeting on the 3rd day of February, 1947, hold a
public hearing to determine whether the said alley shall be vacated.
SECTION 2. That the City Clerk of the City of Little Rock be
and he is hereby directed to give notice of such meeting by publi-
cation once a week for two consecutive weeks in some newspaper
published in Pulaski County and having a general circulation in the
City of Little Rock of a notice in substantially the following form:
"NOT ICE
Notice is hereby given that Gus F. Bentrup, The Long-
Bell Lumber Company, a Corporation, E. E. Russell, and
Olive K. Russell, his wife, have filed with the City Council
of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, a petition asserting
that they own the following described real property all
Block 4, Remmelts Addition to the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas, to-wit:

Lots 1 through 3, inclusive, owned by Gus . F. Bentrup,
Lots 4 through 13, inclusive, owned by The Long-Bell
Lumber Company, a Corporation,
Lots 14 and 15, owned by E. E. Russell,
Lots 16 through 18, inclusive, owned by N. F. Russell
and Olive K. Russell, his wife;
that Block 4, Remmelts Addition to the City of Little Rock,
was platted to show an alley ten feet wide through the
center of the block, parallel with Asher Avenue, and
abutting Lots 4 through 15, inclusive, on the south and
Lots 3 and 16 on the north; that all of the property
abutting the said alley is owned by petitioners as shown
above.
The said petitioners further state that the plat for
said Block 4, Remelts Addition to the City of Little
Rock is dated July 25, 1923, and appears of record in
Plats Record Book 2 at page 184, in the office of the
Circuit Clerk and Ex-officio Recorder for Pulaski County,
Arkansas and the said petitioners have attached to their
said petition a photostatic copy of the said plat showing
Block 4, Remmelts Addition to the City of Little Rock
and the alley through the center of the block, parallel
with Asher Avenue and abutting Lots 4 through 15, in-
clusive, on the south and Lots 3 and 16 on the north.
The said petitioners ask that the City Council of
the City of Little Rock vacate all of said alley.
This notice is to advise all persons and all property
owners affected by the petition that the City Council will,
at its meeting on the 3rd day of February, 1947, qt its
regular meeting place,hear anldetermine whether the said
alley shall be vacated. All property owners affected by
the said petition may appear at said meeting and they will
be heard on the question.
