A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
CONVEY CERTAIN LANDS TO MAUD RIDDICK RIFFEL AND TO BESSIE RIFFEL
RHOTON.
WHEREAS, Nettie F. Riffel, J. K. Riffel, Maud Riddick Riffel,
Bessie Riffel Rhoton and Lewis Rhoton conveyed certain lands herein-
after described to the City of Little Rock for use as a public park,
and
WHEREAS, Maud Riddick Riffel and Bessie Riffel Rhoton have
succeeded to the interest of the other grantors in said deed, and
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock has not used said lands for
the purposes of a public park and has no present intention of using
same for the purposes of a public park, and
WHEREAS, Maud Riddick Riffel and Bessie Riffel Rhoton desire
to use the adjoining lands for purposes that will make said tract
undesirable for use as a public park, and
WHEREAS, it is just and equitable that said lands should be
reconveyed to Maud Riddick Riffel and Bessie Riffel Rhoton, now
therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS :
SECTION. 1 . The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and
directed to convey on behalf of the City of Little Rock the lands
hereinafter described to Maud Riddick Riffel and Bessie Riffel
Rhoton, said lands being described as follows :
A tract of land in the NW. Quarter (4) of Section
Sixteen (16 ), Township one (1 ) North, Range Twelve
(12) West , more particularly described as follows :
Beginning on the N rtheast corner of the South half
2 of the Northeast Quarter (1) of the Northwest
Quarter (*-) of Section Sixteen (16 ) , Township one (1 )
North, Range Twelve (12 ) West, thence South along the
center line North and South of said Section Sixteen
(16 ) , a distance of Two Hundred (200 ) feet; thence
West on a line parallel to and two hundred (200) feet
distance of the North line of the South Half (I) of
the Northeast Quarter (*) of the Northwest Quarter (*)
of Section Sixteen (16 ), a distance of 459.8 feet to a
point; thence in a Southwesterly direction on an angle
of 42°-0" to the left, a distance of 224.6 feet to a
point 350 feet South of the North line of the South
Half ( ) of the Northeast Quarter (4) of the Northwest
Quarter (*) of said Section Sixteen (16 ) , thence on a
line parallel to and 350 feet South of the North line
of the South Half (2) of the Northeast Quarter (* ) of
the Northwest Quarter . (*) of said Section Sixteen (16 ),
a distance of 400 feet to the east right of way line
of the Rock Island Railway; thence in a Northwesterly
direction along the east right of way line of the
Rock Island railway to its intersection with the
North line of the South Half (-�I, ) of the Northeast
Quarter (4) of the Northwest Quarter . (*) of said Sec-
tion Sixteen (16 ) , thence East along the North line
of the South Half a) of the Northeast Quarter (*) of
the Northwest Quarter (4) of Section Sixteen (16 ),
Township One (1 ) North, Range Twelve (12 ) West to the
point of beginning, containing an area of 6.6 acres,
more or less.
SECTION 2. The consideration for the conveyance authorized
in Section 1. of this Resolution shall be One Dollar ( $1.00) .
