RESOLUTION NO . 1638
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND REQUESTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO TAKE
APPROPRIATE ACTION IN CONNECTION WITH CERTAIN FUNDS HELD BY THE
STATE OF ARKANSAS .
WHEREAS , some question has arisen as to the amount of money
the City of Little Rock , Arkansas , is entitled to receive from
the State of Arkansas under Act 187 of the Acts of the 1943
General Assembly of the State of Arkansas , and other associated
acts , constituting what is generally known as the cities and
counties fund,
WHEREAS , said confusion should be resolved in the best
interests of the City of Little Rock and of the State of Arkansas ,
and
WHEREAS , the City Attorney has brought this situation to
the attention of the City Council, now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS :
SECTION 1 . The City Attorney, Cooper Jac-oway, is hereby
requested and authorized to institute any proceeding he considers
appropriate either at law or in equity to resolve the question of
the amounts of money to which the City of Little Rock is or may
be entitled under said acts and to take any other appropriate
steps to secure for the City of Little Rock any sums to which it may
be entitled thereby.
