1629 RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION CONCERNING LOTS TEN '11 (10) , ELEVEN (11) , AND TV'dELVE
(12) , BLOCK ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY*FIVE (135) , ORIGINAL CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, HERETOFORE CONVEYED TO THE UNITED STATES OF
AMERICA FOR THE PURPOSE OF ERECTING A PUBLIC HEALTH BUILDING
THEREON AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock, Arkansas bought and at
one time owned certain lands in the City of Little Rock des-
cribed as: Lots 10, 11, and 12, Block 135, original City of
Little Rock, and
WHEREAS, the United States of America offered to build a
Public Health Center on said lands, and
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock was and is now in need
of a public health building, and
WHEREAS, some question has arisen concerning the nature
of the City' s interest in said lands at the time of and prior
to the conveyance to the United States of America, and
WHEREAS, said question should be resolved, NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the lands described as Lots 10, 11, and
12, Block 135, original City of Little Rock which were once owned
by the City of Little Rock and which have now been conveyed to
the United States of America for the purpose of erecting a
public health center thereon consisted of lands that were held
and owned by the City of Little Rock in its private and pro-
prietary capacity, and said lands were not procured by the City
of Little Rock for municipal purposes, and that said lands were
held by the City of Little Rock at the time of its conveyance
to the United States of America in its private and proprietary
capacity and not for municipal purposes.
Section 2. That the City of Little Rock at the time of the
conveyance of said lands to the United States of America was
and now is in need of a public health center.
Section 3. That the public health is intimately and
directly affected by the immediate construction of a public
health building on the lands hereinabove described.
Section 4. That the action of the Little Rock City
Clerk and Mayor in conveying said lands to the United States
of America under the terms of Ordinance Number 6373 of the
Ordinances of the City of Little Rock be and the same hereby
is approved, ratified, and confirmed in all particulars.
