1621 r- fy • A RESOLUTION GRANTING UNTO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA THE RIGHT TO INSTALL, MAINTAIN AND OPERATE A RAILROAD SPUR TRACK OR CROSSING ACRUSs RAILROAD AVENUE NEAR EAST TWELFTH STREET IN THE CITY OF LITTLE RUCK, ARKANSAS, AND FUR OTHER PURPOSES; RESOLUTION NO. 1b21 WHEREAS the United States of America is expanding, developing, and improving the Little Rock Municipal Airport, known as Adams Field, for use in the war effort of the United States; and W? REAS, in such expansion and utilization, it is necessary and essential that an access railroad or spur be extended from the main line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad into the Municipal Airport, designated as Adams Field; and WHEREAS it is necessary that, in constructing said access railroad or spur line, a crossing be installed and maintained over the thorough- fare known as Railroad Avenue, such crossing to be installed across said Railroad Avenue immediately south of the junction with Twelfth Street. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TH1 CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF • LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, That, in consideration of the public necessity for such installation, and in further consideration of the war effort of the United States, the United States of America be and it is hereby granted the right to install, maintain, and operate a railroad crossing across the thoroughfare in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, known as Railroad Avenue, such crossing to be installed across said Railroad Avenue . immediately south of its junction with Twelfth Street; and be it further RESOLVED, That such spur will be so constructed and maintained as to provide, a grade crossing satisfactory to the City of Little Rock, that any necessary change in the grade of said crossing will be made by the United States or its assigns, and that the United States or its assigns will maintain the pavement between the rails of said crossing and for a dis tance of two (2) feet on each side thereof; and be it further RESOLVED, That the right and privilege hereby granted shall continue in force and effect during the existing emergency and for a period of six months immediately thereafter; and be it further RESOLVED, That the United States of America may assign the right, privilege, license, or easement hereby granted to a common carrier to construct, maintain, and operate said railroad or spur as afore- said across the thoroughfare designated as Railroad Avenue in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, and that any and all such installations shall be made at the expense of the United States of America, or its assigns, and without cost, expense to, or obligation against the City of Little Rock.
