RESOLUTION NO. 1618
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CITY
CLERK TO ENTER INTO A WRITTEN AGREEMENT WITH L. JULIAN ALEXANDER,
CHAS. A. EHRMAN AND JOHN HENRY FFAW,'LEY , JR. , FOR THE CLOSING OF
CERTAIN ALLEYS IN BLOCK 256 , ORIGINAL CITY , BEING THE 1000 BLOCK ON
WEST MARKHAM STREET IN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK , ARKANSAS.
WHEREAS , on the 15th day of June , 1886 , James H. Barton
executed a bill of assurance reply tting the East Half (E-) of Block
256 of the Original City of Little Rock ; and,

WHEREAS , under the terms of said bill of assurance and

plat annexed thereto , as of record in Book 15 at page 117 of the
Deed Records of Pulaski County , Arkansas , the said James H. Barton
dedicated the West ten (10) feet of Lot Three (3 ) and the North ten
(10) feet of Lots Ten (10) , Eleven (11 ) and Twelve (12 ) of Block
256 of the original City of Little Rock as public alleys; and,

WHEREAS , L. Julian Alexander, Chas. A. Ehrman and John
Henry Frawley , Jr. , are the owners of all of the East Half (Ez) of
Block 256 of the Original City of Little Rock , according to said
replat and have filed their petition petitioning the Council of
the City of Little ,Rock to pass a: resolution authorizing and
directing the Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Little Rock to
enter into a written agreement closing said alleys; and,
WHEREAS , said alleys are not needed for highway purposes;
and ,
WHEREAS , the welfare of the City of Little Rock will be
enhanced and promoted by the closing and abandoning of said alleys;
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK: That the Mayor and City Clerk be and they
are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a written agree-
ment with L. Julian Alexander, Chas. A. Ehrman and John Henry
Frawley , Jr. , in order to properly close and abandon said alleys ,
as provided by Section 10032 of Pope 's Digest of the Statutes of
the State of Arkansas.
