1610 RESOLUTION NO. 1010
WHEREAS, the United States of America in its war
effort program is purchasing appropriate buildings for the
use of the United service Organizations for National i)efense,
Inc . , in providing off-the-military reservation recreation
for soldiers, sailors and marines, and
WHEREAS, the City is anxious of assisting and
cooperating with the United Service Organizations Council of
Greater Little hock in recommending that the United States
Government purchase the building at 112-114 East 7th Street,
Little hock, Arkansas, being the ►'pest 50 feet of Lots 7, S
and 9, clock 7, Original City , for use as a U b 0 Club for
the benefit of the men in the armed forces of the United
States stationed in or about Little hock,
NOW, THEREFORE, SE IT RESOLVED by -THE CITY COUNCIL
OF LITTLE ROOK, ARKANsAs:
Section 1. That the iviayor is hereby authorized to
sign a Defense Public Works application and any other neces-
sary papers for federal assistance for grant of funds for
said project whereby the City of Little hock will spend only
such funds as are provided by the r ederal Government and/or
the United service Organizations in the operation of such
project as a U s 0 Club provided, however, that the City of
Little hock shall assume no financial obligation in connec-
tion with any such project.
