RESOLUTION NO. 1588
WHEREAS, on July 5, 1941, William Kaiser Lange was called to the
presence of his Creator, and
WHER AS, during a long and useful life , he served the City of
Little Rock faithfully and with distinction as Ald-
erman for a total of eighteen years, during which
time he was chairman of a number of important com-
mittees, including the Fire, Street, Library and
Lighting Committees, and
WHEREAS, as a loving and devoted husband and father, he has left
to mourn his passing, his wife, Josephine Maender
Lange, one surviving son, Robert A. Lange, and a
brother and sister, Arnold H. Lange, of Little Rock,
and Yrs. William Zeisler, also of Little Rock, and one
granddaughter , Peg, y Lange Probst, and
WHEREAS, as a public spirited citizen, he was a member of the vol-
unteer fire department, and Past-President of the
Crder of American Firemen, and
WHEREAS, having spent the greater part of an active life in the
retail and wholesale grocery business, and, in the
seventy-first year of his life , was, at the time of
his passing, employed with the Agricultuial Adjust-
ment Administration, with which he had been assoc-
iated for the past five years, and
WHEREAS, as a God fearing,Christian American, he was an active
member of the Lutheran faith, now therefore
BE I'T RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS, that, in the passing of William Kaiser
Lange, the City of Little Rock has lost an honored
and respected citizen and public servant; and that
his bereaved family have suffered an irreparable
loss of a beloved husband, father and brother.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be spread upon the
records of this body as a permanent memorial to our
departed friend, and in testimony of our deep sense
of loss at his passing; and that a copy of this res-
olution be transmitted to the bereaved family as an
expression of deepest sympathy for their grief.
