7iHE S, On the 28th day of February, 1941, George R. Gay departed
this life in obedience to that last summons which, in
time, must come to all men, and
:SEAS, During a long and useful life, George R. Gay devoted much
of his time and energy toward the improvement of condit-
ions among the unfortunate and underprivileged, and -
'EIEREAS, As a member of the City Council of the City of Little Rock
from April 8, 1918, to April 7 , 1930, he was prominently
identified w.:pith the promulgation and adoption of many
progressive measures which have resulted in lasting ben-
efits to the community at large, and
WHEREAS, As a devout Christian and active member of the Presbyter-
ian faith, his life was dedicated to the service of God
in his participation in the affairs of his church, and in
his every-day relations with his fellow-man, and
AREAS, In his death, the widow and six children of George R. Gay
have suffered the irreparable loss of a devoted husband
and father, and the community at large has lost a dist-
inguished and loyal citizen, now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Little Bock, Ark-
f ansas, that it take this means of expressing its profound
regret at the passing of a former member and distinguished
citizen, George R. Gay, and that this resolution be spread
upon the records of this body.
BE IT a rTEER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be transmitted
to the widow and children of George R. Gay, as a sincere
token of sympathy for their bereavement.
