1563 RESOLUTION NO. 1563.
RESOLUTION APPOINTING COMMISSIONERS
TO FILL VACANCIES IN
SEWER IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 114
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK
WHEREAS two petitions have been filed with the City Council,
each of which is signed by more than five property holders within
the bounds of Sewer Improvement District No. 114 of the City of
Little Rock ( the persons signing said petition having been certi-
fied as property holders in said district by a local reliable
abstracter) , calling the Council' s attention to the fact that W.R.
Goodman and W.L. Clippard, who have been serving as commissioners
of said district, are no longer property holders within the bounds
of said district, and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of Act No. 74 of the Acts of
the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas of 1941, upon the
filing of the aforesaid petitions with the City Council, the
office of each of the aforesaid commissioners becomes vacant and
under the provisions of said law it becomes the duty of the
Council to appoint as their successors the persons recommended in
the aforesaid petitions to succeed the aforesaid commissioners ;
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Little
Rock that Justin Matthews be and he is hereby appointed as one
of the commissioners of said Sewer Improvement District No. 114
to succeed W.R. Goodman, and that Karl L. Strickland be and he
is hereby appointed as one of the commissioners of said Sewer
Improvement District No. 114 to succeed W.L. Clippard, both of
said newly appointed commissioners being qualified electors and
property owners within the bounds of said district.
