1549 RESOLUTION NO. 1549.
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock purchased certain real prop-
erty for use as a negro park; included in real property so pur-

chaste- following lands located in the County of Pulaski and
State of Arkansas , to-wit :
E . of Q Line - W2 NEt, Sec . 26 , T 1 N, R 12 W
E. of Q Line - SEA NEB, Sec . 26 , T 1 N, R 12 W
E . of Q Line - S;- Frl . NW- -, Sec . 26 , T 1 N, R 12 W
And, WHEREAS , said lands were forfeited to the State of Arkansas
for non-payment, of the taxes assessed and due thereon at the time
the property was acquired ,
And, WHEREAS , said lands were certified to the State of Ark-
ansas by reason of the failure to pay said taxes and were by the
State of Arkansas sold to E. D. Plant,
And, WHEREAS , the said F. D. Plant, in ignorance of the City
of Little Rock ' s claim to the property, cut certain timber located
on said lands and contracted for the sale thereof to various parties,
And , WHEREAS , an agreement has been reached between E. D. Plant
and the City of Little Rock, Arkansas , whereby Plant has agreed to
execute a quitclaim deed to the city conveying any and all interest
that he may possess or have acquired in exchange for the timber al-
ready cut on said lands ,
And, WHEREAS it is to the best interests of the City of Little
Rock that this be done,
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVEI> by the City Corncil of Little
Rock, Arkansas , that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby author-
ized and directed to enter into a contract with E. D . Plant whereby
E. D . Plant and wife , by appropriate instrument of conveyance, shall
convey to the city any and all interest they may possess or have ac-
quired in and to the above described lands inlxchange for the timber
already cut on said lands and any acts already undertaken by the
Mayor to consummate or effect the contract above are hereby rati-
fied.
