1521 RESOLUTION NO. 1521
A RESOLUTION GIVING AND GRANTI'G UNTO THE AIRPORT
COMMITTEE OF THE CITY COUNCIL, THE FINANCE COMMITTEE
OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, FULL AUTHORITY TO ENTER INTO
CONTRACTS FUR THE PURCHASE OF LANDS NECESSARY FOR THE
PROPOSED EXPANSION OF ADAMS FIELD (LITTLE ROCK MUNICIPAL
AIRPORT) ; AND FOR PURCHASE OF NECESSARY RIGHTS-OF-WAY,
ROADWAYS AND STREETS IN CONNECTION WITH SUCH EXPANSION.
Whereas, Improvement Bonds of the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas, have been issued for the purpose of making much needed
improvements at Adams Field (Little Rock Municipal Airport ) which
necessitate the acquisition of certain lands adjacent to the present
Airport grounds; and
Whereas, the United States Government , through the Works
Progress Administration, has indicated a willingness to assist the
City in the expansion of said Airport and making improvements there-
on; and
Whereas, it is deemed expedient from the standpoint of civic
necessity and National Defense responsibility that the plans for said
expansion of and improvements to said Airport go forward with the least
possible cost and delay to the City of Little Rock and to the United
States Government;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE' CI TY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the Airport Committee of the City Council,
the Finance Committee of the City Council, and the Mayor of the City
of Little Rock, Arkansas be and they are hereby given full authority
to enter into such contracts as they deem for the best interests of
the City for the purchase of lands, rights-of-way, roadways, streets
and other properties necessary and incident to the proposed expansion
of Adams Field (Little Rock municipal Airport) .
