WHEREAS, under the terms of the Zoning Ordinance which
is Ordinance No. 5420 of the Ordinances of tie City of Little Rock,
open hearings are provided on changes in the Ordinance and notice
of such hearings must be published in a newspaper published in the
City of Little Rock; and
WHEREAS, said Ordinance No. 5420 makes no provision
for the payment of said legal notice; and
WHEREAS, such changes are of no benefit to the City,
but are of a direct benefit to the property owner petitioning the
change;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
that the City Clerk be instructed to notify all
petitioning property owners in the future that the cost necessary
for the legal advertising must be paid by the Petitioner, and the
City Clerk is hereby further instructed to collect said cost before
any legal notices are authorized or any expense incurred.
