A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TREASURER OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCIK, ARKANSAS, 'LTD ACCE?l FROM THE FEDERAL GOV-
ERNMENT THROUGH ITS PROPER AGENCIES ALL MONEY TO BE
PAID BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK UNDER THE TERiVIS OF THE CONTRACT HERETOFORE ENTERED
INTO FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE CITY WATER VVORKS;
FIXING A BOND FOR THE CITY TREASURER TO PROTECT SAID
FUND; AUTHORIZING THE BOARD OF PUBLIC AFIAIRS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK TO MLaEALL NECESSARY CONTRACTS FOR
CARRYING OUT THE CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION OF SAID
PROJECT AND THE CONTRACT HERETOFORE ENTERED INTO BE-
nlEEN THE CITY AND FEDERAL GOVER1�Vi�TT; PROVIDING FOR
DI SBURS E�dENT OF SAID FUNDS; AND F01Z OTHER PURPOSES.

VuHEREAS, The City of Little hock, Arkansas has by
Droper actionof its officers and city council heretofore entered
into an agreement i�,rith the Emergency Administration of Public
tiIvorks whereby the government will finance the construction of
the necessary dam, pipeline, etc. for the completion of the
Little Rock municipal water -works project; and
d'HEREAS, The government has agreed to advance to the
City a sum up to and including the sum of 0,500,000 for such
project and the City has by proper resolution and ordinances
accepted said offer and entered into the necessary contracts; and
WEEREAS, The Mayor of the City of Little Rock is now
in receipt of the first check of said sum in the amount of
687,500 and orovision should be made pursuant to Act 131 of
the Acts of 1933 of the General Assembly of the State of Ark-
ansas for the proper deposit of said money; 140'bj, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF ThE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. 'That the City Treasurer of the City of
Little Rock is hereby authorized and directed to receive said
sum and all subsequent sums pe.id by the rederai Govermnent to
the City in pursuance of the agreement heretofore mentioned and
said sums shall be deposited by the said City Treasureu in an
account to be known as the Dater Supply Construction Fund. That
the said City Treasurer is hereby directed to furnish proper
surety bond in the sun of $50,000 in favor of the City for the
proper accounting of an:,- and all sums so received. Said bond
to be approved by the City Goun.cil of the City of Little Hock,
Arkansas.

Section 2. That the Board of Public Affairs is hereby
directed, authorized, and empoth7ered to proceed immediately to
make all necessary contracts and agreements for the speedy and
proper completion of the said water -works project; provided,
however said Board of Public Affairs shall have no pover to make
contracts or expenditures from the Water Supply Construction
Fund totaling a sum greater than $3,500,000 which it has been
heretofore ascertained to be the maximumn coat of said project
and the maxiinum amount which the Federal Government has agreed
to advance to the City.
Section 3. That payments from said construction pro-
ject account under contracts made by the Board of Public Affairs
shall be made only after the Board of Puulic liffairs has ascer-
tained that all reauirem.ents of the bond ordinance and Trust
Indenture have been complied with, and has approved in writing
all requisitions for disbursements, such approved requisitions
shall be forwarded to the City Treasurer who shall, upon ascer-
taining the approval of such requisition or requisitions issue a
check or checks in the p m per amount against the construction
account and said check or checks when signed by the Treasurer
shall be presented to the Mayor who shall countersign same, and
the depository holdi4,, said fund shall then horror said checks.
Section 4. The mayor of the City of Little Rock is
hereby authorized and empowered to receive and endorse for pay-
ment any and all checks or vouchers for payment of funds to the
City for bonds sold and delivered.
