REAS, Sam aorex, a member of IJ. M. Eberts Post, :�merican
Legion, was quoted in the Arkansas Gazette of :Saturday, February
8, 19361 as charging that "a gambling ring dominates law enforce-
ment in the city" (of Little jock), and
'FIEFE- 43, such charge constitutes an indictment by the said
Sam Rorex against every law enforcement officer in the city of
Little Rock, and is of such serious nature that it demands an im-
mediate investigation in order that the truth thereof may be
determined, now
THEREFORE, be it resolved that the police committee of the
city council be and it is hereby instructed to request Lr. Rorex
to appear before it and submit whatever evidence he has in his
possession, or at his command, substanti.atin`I his charge; and that
the committee also be instructed to hear any other testimony it
thinks proper in proof of said charges, or any testimony to dis-
prove the same, further
RJSOL�' that said com,iittee be instructed to enter upon
the investigation:_ v,- ithout delay and complete the same ,.iith all
reasonable dispatch; that all testimony taken before it in fur-
therance of said investigation be reduced to , ;riting and reported
to this council, with a finding of, and recommendation from, the
committee, as soon as the investigation is completed.
