1316RESOLU`1'ION. J3 J (, WHEREAS, Chris Ledwidge was taken from our midst on January 16, 1934, after many years of distinguished public service and kindly private activity, it is fitting that the City Council of Little Rock, of which he had been an outstanding member, should formally pay tribute to his memory. Chris Ledwidge, a native of Little Rock, achieved deserved prominence in the political, business and charitable life of the city and state through the power of his intellect and the charm of his manner. Long before 1-ie attained majority attention was attracted to the skill with which he handled matters of business. Always submerging himself apparently in the background, he pos- sessed the uncanny ability of accomplishing the desired result with a seeming minimum of effort. As alderman he will be rem- embered by the number of enduring monuments he erected in the form of far - sighted improvements; as a business leader, by the admirable daring of his successes; and as a beloved man, by those countless thousands in every walk of life who have been elevated by his beauty of spirit and gentility of thought. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: A copy of this resolution be spread upon the minutes of the City Council of Little Rock and that a copy thereof be transmitted to his widow with our profound sympathy.
