AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES-
WHEREAS, Firs. 1delissa Retan conveyed a, portion of Block.
23, 24, 25 and 26, Garland's Addition, to the City of little Rock_,
to be used as a right -of -way for East Sixth Street, and in build-
ing said street it was found necessary to use other portions of
said blocks belonging to Mrs. Retan and the tract conveyed by her
was not used by the City and should be returned to her, 1 0 d"
TH-MIEFORE, BE IT ORDAINED :16Y TI-M CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF LITME ROCK:
Section 1. That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby
authorized and directed to convey that portion of the right-of-
way of East Sixttr Street through Blocks 23, 24, 25 and 26 of
Garland's Addition, not used by said City and heretofore conveyed
to the City by I'drs. Melissa Retan, back to her, describing said
property in said deed by metes and bounds, according to survey
made thereof by Lund & Hill and approved by the City Engineer, an
to do such other acts and things as may be necessary to make said
conveyance effectual.
Provided, however, said deed shall not be
delivered until 1drs. ,etan conveys to the City of little Rock
the right -of -way which was actually used in the construction of
said street; and provided, further, that all costs and expenses
of recording, etc., for both deeds, shall be paid by Firs. Retan.
6ection 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed, and this ordinance shall
take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
