2785ORDINANCE N0. 2795. V An Ordinance Granting the Good Roads Service Company of Arkansas Permission to Install Street or Road = Markerp and for other purposes. Bi' IT ORD6INED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; Section 1. The Good Roads Service Company of Arkansas is hereby given permission, for a period o-f five years, to in. stall and maintain its system of road, street or highway markers' along and upon the streets, roads and marked highways within the Oity of Little Rock, said ma,fkers to be placed in such portions of the sidewalk, near the curb, as may be designated, and shall be so placed as to at no time interfere with traffic but to assist in the direction of traffic along and upon the recognized automobile highways or trails running into or through the City of Little Rock, Section 2. Said markers shall be placed on metal posts, not More than nine feet in height; the plates or m rkers there upon shall not exceed three in number and shall not be larger than six by twelve inches, or, if round, thirty inches in diame- ter, and shall be so placed and drected as not to interfere with traffic in any way or interfere with or touch any utility poles, shade trees, nor shall portion, thereof below the sidewalk inter- fere with any wiring, pipes or conduits. Section 3. The Good Roads Service Co., of Arkansas, shall hve the Bight to use said markers or disk for the purpose of advertising, but no unsightly or objectionable advertising mf;tter shall be used or -placed thereon. Section 4. S`uch nests, plates and markers shall be m_ in_-- tained by the gr4ntee herein in good condition and repair, With- .,� a7? out cost to the City, and grantee shall hold the City harm., less on account of erection, installation or maintenance 6f said posts along said streets. Title thereto all at all times be and remain in said Good Roads Service,o± Arkansas* Section 5. All installation of posts and maskers shall be under the supervision of the City Engineer or other designated city official , and in the event any posts or markers, after being erected, shall become broken or unsightly, same shall be replaced within a reasonable time after notifi- cation from either the City Engineer or other designated city official. Section 6. In consideration of the above grant, the grantee herein shall make, at the expiration of every six- month period after the date of the passage of this ordinance, a report to the City Collector of the number of posts installed, and said grantee shall pay to the City of Tittle Rock a fee of One Dollar ($1.00) per year per post erected, said remittance to be made for six -month periods. Section 7. This ordinance shall take effedt and be in force from and after its passage, and grantee shall have a period of thirty days from the date hereof for acceptance, zhich shall be in writing on the margin of the clerk's records of ordinances.
