2830ORDINANCE NO. 28 0. An Ordinance for the Re- Issue of Varrants Numbered 33103 to 33105, Inclusive, 33591, 33592, 33615, 33620 to 33622, Inclusive, 33681 to 33685, Inclusive, 33647 to 33656, Inclusive, and 33713. Whereas, There have been presented to this council war- rants of the City of Little Rock, as follows: Varrants numbered 33103 to 33105, inclusive, all of said warrants drawn upon July 9, 1920, in favor of R. G. Helbron, of Little Rock, Arkansas, each warrant being for the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1000.00), and all of said warrants maturing July 9, 1921; and, ),'Jrrant s numbered 33591, 33592, 33615, 33620 to 33622, inclusive, 33647 to 33656, inclusive, 33681 to 33685, inclusive, and 33713, all of said warrants drawn upon July 25, 1920, in favor of R. G. Helbron, of Little Rock, Arkansas, each warrant being for the sum of One Thousand Dollars 01000.00), and all of said war- rants maturing July 25, 1921; and, Vhereas, the holders of said warrants have requested their reissue to R. G. Helbron, of Z;ittle Rock, Arkansas,, but pay- able to bearer; and, dhereas, this council has carefully investigated the va- lidity and the amount of the indebtedness for which each of said warrants was issued; and, Whereas, this council has ascertained that the said war- rants are the legal and binding obligations of the City of Little Rock; Now, Therefore, It is hereby ascertained and declared that said. warrants are valid and. existing, obligations of said city and, therefore: I = I j Y BE IT ORDAITM BY TFE CITY COUNCIL OF T'TE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK: Section 1. That said warrants, hereinbefore described, shall be filed with the city clerk and by him plainly canceled by perforation and kept in his file, and that in lieu thereof the City of Little Rock, by its mayor and city clerk., as president and clerk of the city council, issue to the said R. G. Helbron warrants of the City of Little Rock to the amount of 25,000.00 in renewal thereof. Said warrants shall be mode payable to the bearer at the Union Trust Company, in the City of Chicago, Illi- nois, P�:arch 25, 1922, and they shall have all the attributes of negotiable paper, and each of said warrants shall be in the de- nomination of One Thousand Dollars ($1000.00) . Section 2. Said warrants shall be in the following f o rm : No. STATE OT' ARKANSAS ,1 b 0 ,6, b CITY OF LITTLE ROC" On the 25th day of lurch, 1922, the treasurer of the City of Little Rock, in the State of Arkansas, will pay to bearer at the Union `'rust Company, in the City of Chicago, Illinois,the sum of One Thousand Dollars (11000.00) in lawful money of the United States, out of any money in his hands belonging to the general fund. This warrant is issued to fund another warrant of said city Which has been presented to the city council of the said City of Little Rock by the holder thereof, and reissuance thereof requested in pursuance of the provisions of .Act No. 383 of the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas nf or the year 1917, en- titled "An act authorizing cities in Arkansas having a population of 40,007 or over, to refund their city warrants," the said war- rant in lieu of which this warrant is issued having been care - fully investigated. by the city council of said city, and it hav- ing ascertained and declared the validity and amount of the in- i 3 i debtedness due upon the warrant in lieu of which this warrant is issued, and the warrant in 1 i eu of which this warrant is is- sued has been filed_ with the city clerk' and by him plainly can - celed by perforation and kept in his files; and it is hereby re- cited and covenanted with the holder of this warrant that this warrant has been duly issued_ in accordance with the act aforesaid, and that all things required to be done by the terms of said act have been done as therein required, and that the ordinance ord_er- ing the issue of this warrant has the force and. effect of a judg- ment, establishing the validity of the claim for which this war- rant is issued, and that this warrant evidences a valid indebted - ness of the City of Little Rock for the amount thereof, and that it is not open to question at law or in equity, and to the pay- ment of this warrant the full faith, credit and resources of said city are irrevocably pledged. In Witness ;'Ihereoi, the City of Little Rock has executed this warrant under the hand of its mayor and caused the jsame to be attested by its corporate seal and the signature of its clew; on this day of July, 1921.
