ORDINANCE 110. 28980
An Ordinance Providing for the Building, Maintenance and Repair
of Sidewalks upon Rector Avenue from Markham Street to Second
Street and upon Second Street from Rector Avenue to
Collins Street, and for other purposes.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIC, CITY OF LITTLE ROCK:
Section 1. The owner or owners, respectively, of
all property abutting on Rector Avenue from Tiarkham Street to
Second Street, and upon Second Street from Rector Avenue to Col-
lins Street, be and they are hereby required to build, within
days from the date of the passage of this- ordinance,
and to maintain, sidewalks along such property as they may own
abutting on said streets betrween the points named.
Section 2. Said sidewalks shall be constructed and
comply in every respect with the general sidewalk ordinances of
the City of Little Rock, and such construction shall be under
the supervision of the City Engineer.
Section 3. Upon the failure or refusal of any of said
owners of said property to comply with the provisions of this or-
dinance, with reference to either the building or maintaining or
repairing of such walks in the manner and time herein prescribed,
the Board of Public Affairs may contract with some suitable per-
son for the construction, maintenance or repair of said sidewalks
as provided by law, and such expenditures so made by the Board of
Public Affairs shall be a lien upon the property along which said
walks are thus constructed, maintained or repaired.
Section 4. In addition to the civil proceedings pro-

vided for herein, any owner of property abutting on the above
streets between the points named, who shall fail or refuse to com-
ply with the provisions of this ordinance, shall be deemed guilty
of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction in idlunicipal Court, shall
be fined in any sum not less than $10.00 nor more than (50.00,
but each day of such failure or refusal shall constitute a separate
offense.
Section 5. All ordinances and parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed, and this ordinance shall
take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
