Ordinance No. 2 9 0 2.
AN ORDINANCE ANtEXING A CERTAIN PORTION,
HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED, OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS TO STREET IMPROVEMENT
DISTRICT NO. 288 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
WHEREAS, persons claiming to be a majority in value of
the owners of real property within the territory hereinafter de-
scribed, which property adjoins Street Improvement District No.
288 of Little Rock, Arkansas, a duly created and existing improve-
ment district in said city, desire to be added to and included in
said improvement district, and have filed a petition with the
City Council of the City of Little Rodk, Arkansas, praying that
said territory be annexed to said improvement district and have
designated the nature of the improvement to be undertaken, and
have described the territory to be annexed, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has directed the City Clerk to
publish for two weeks in some newspaper issued and having a general
circulation in Pulaski County a notice calling upon the property
owners within said territory to appear before this Council on this
day and show cause for or against such annexation, and
WHEREAS, such notice has been duly published and this is
the time fixed in said notice for the hearing to determine whether
those signing said petition constitute a majority in value of the
owners of real property in said territory, and
WHEREAS, this Council has heard all persons who desire
to be heard upon the question of whether the signers of said peti-
tion constitute a majority in value,of the owners of real property
within said territory sought to be annexed.
THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the
City of Little Rock, Arkansas:
SECTION 1: That this Council has ascertained that the
signers of the petition to annex the property hereinafter described
to Street Improvement District No. 288 of the City of Little hock,

Arkansas, constitute a majority in value of the owners of real
property within the territory sought to be annexed, and that said
petition for the annexation of said territory is in due form and
properly signed by a majority of the owners of real property as
bequired by law.
SECTION 2: That Lots 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 of Blocks 133,134,
135,174,175,176,177,178 and 179 and Lots 7,8,9,10,11 and 12 of
Blocks 140,141,142,275,225,226,227,228 and 229, all in the original
City of little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, be and they are here-
by added to and annexed to Street Improvement District No. 288 of
Little Rock and are a part of said Improvement District and the com-
missioners of said District shall proceed to make the improvements
petitioned for by doing the necessary draining and paving with the
material and in the manner that the commissioners of said Street
Improvement District No. 288 shall deem to be for the best interest
of the territory hereby annexed to said Street Improvement District
No. 288 on State Street from the North property line of West 10th
Street to the South property line of West Markham Street. That said
annexed territory shall be known as the State Street Annex to
Street Improvem,�nt District No. 288 of Little Rock, Arkansas.
SECTION 3: That the commissioners shall make the assess-
ments of benefits for said improvement on the lots in the territory
to be annexed on the same basis as if said territory was included
in the original district and shall file said assessment with the
City Clerk.
SECTION 4: That all ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed and this ordinance shall take effect and be
in force from and after its passage, and the City Clerk is hereby
ordered within twenty days after the passage of this ordinance to
publish the same in some newspaper published in the City of Little
Rock for one insertion.

The Arkansas Abstract & Guaranty Company, a corpora-
tion, hereby certifies that it has caused the records of the
Office of the Circuit Clerk and Ex- Officio Recorder of Pulaski
County, Arkansas, and the records of the office of the County
Clerk of said county to be examined for the purpose of ascertain-
ing the owners of Lots 1,2,3,4,5, and 6 of Blocks 1330134,1359174
175,176,177,178 and 179 and Lots 7,8,9,10,11 and 12 of Blocks
140,141,142,275,225,226,227,228 and 229, all in the Original City
of Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, and for the purpose of
ascertaining the assessed valuation and the equalized valuation
of each of the above described lots.
And it further certifies that the total assessed value
of all the above described lots is $306,250.00. And it further
certifies that it has examined the petition to annex the above
described lots to Street Improvement Listrict No. 288 of Little
Rock, and that said annexation petition has been signed by owners
of real property within the above described lots to the value of
x:159,500.00 as shown by the last deeds of record on the 30th day
of January, 1922.
