ORDINANCE ASSESSING VALUE OF THE BENEFITS

EVERAL BLOCKS, LOTS AND PARCELS OF LAND WITHIN
HE STATE STREET ANNEX TO STREET IMPROVEMENT
ISTRICT NO. 288 of the CITY OF LITTLE. ROCK,
ARKANSAS
WHEREAS , a majority of the owners of real property

adining the locality to be affected and situated within the Jtate
Street Annex to Street Improvement District No. 288 of the City
of Little Rock, Arkansas, said property being described as follows:

Lots 1,2,3,4,5,6 of Blocks 1330134,135,174,175,176,
177,178 and 179; and Lots 7,8,9,10,11 and 12 of
Blocks 140,141,142,275,225,226,227,228 and 229, all
in the original City of Little Rock, Pulaski County,
Arkansas,
organized and annexed for the purpose of making local improvements
therein by doing the necessary draining and paving with the material
and in the manner that the commissioners of said Street Improvement
District No. 288 shall deem to be for the best interests of the ter-
ritory annexed, on State Street from the north property line of '' ;4est
10th Street to the south property line of West Markham Street, have
petitioned the city council of Little Rock for the construction of
said improvement and that the cost thereof shall be assessed upon
the real property within said annexed territory according to benefits
received;
'!'WHEREAS, said benefits received by each and every block,
lot and parcel of real property situated within said annexed territory
equals or exceeds the legal assessment thereon;
WHEREAS, the estimated cost of said improvement is
53,863.00 which together with the estimated cost of the improvement
in Street Improvement District No. 288 is less than twenty percent
(20ya) of the value of the real property in said district No. 288, and
the annexed territory combined, as shown by the last county assessment;

and is less than twenty per cent (20j0 of the value of the real
property in said annexed territory, as shown by the last county
assessment;
THEREFORE IT IS NOW ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the said several blocks, lots and
parcels of real property within said State Street annexed territory
to Street Improvement Listrict No. 288 be, and they are hereby,
assessed according to the assessment list for said State Street
annex to said Improvement Listrict, as the same now remains in the
office of the city clerk of the City of Little Rock, and as the
same may be annually readjusted by the Board of Assessors, and
that ten per centum of said assessment of the value of the benefits
of each of said blocks, lots and parcels of land shall be paid an-
nually on or before the 15th day of June of each year until the
whole of said assessment shall have been paid. The first annual
payment shall be made on or before the 15th of June, 1922.
Section 2: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed, this ordinance shall be
in full force and effect from and after its passage.
