2 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
3 PURCHASE TWENTY -THREE (23) 4 -DOOR MID -SIZE POLICE
4 SEDANS FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT; AND FOR OTHER
5 PURPOSES.
6 WHEREAS, it is necessary for the Police Department to replace older, higher
7 mileage police sedans currently being operated by the Department, and
8 WHEREAS, the City has decided that it is in its best interest to purchase the
9 police units from the 2004 Arkansas State Purchasing Contract; and
10 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
11 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
12 Section 1: The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with
13 Bale Chevrolet for the purchase of twenty -three (23) four -door mid -size police sedans,
14 for the amount of Three Hundred Seventy -four Thousand, Six Hundred Three and
15 87/100 Dollars ($374,603.87) pursuant to the state purchasing contract.
16 Section 2. Funding for these purchases is to be from the funds approved by
17 the 2004 Short Term Financing Account.
18 Section 3. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that
19 are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent
20 of such inconsistency.
21 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence,
22 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or
23 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining
24 portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so
25 declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
26 resolution.
