ORDINANCE NO. X3363
AN ORGIrTANCE LESIGNATING THE FACULTY OF H
MED I CAL DEPARTMENT OF THE IRII VERSITY OF AR -,USAS THE
VISITING STAFF FOR THE LITTLE ROCK GkILRAL HOSPITAL,
AND FOR OTHM 2[1R2CSES.
WHEREAS, the Medical Department of the University
of Arkansas conveyed to the City of Little Rock in April
1896 16t 11, block 6, Pope's Addition to the City of Little
Rock for use only as a hospital site for said city, and
l IMPEAS, said City of Little Rock has built a new
charity hospital known as the Little Rock General Hospital,
and will within a short ti -ne abandon the old City Hospital,
located on said lot 119 block 6, Pope's Addition to the City
of Little Rock, and
4TTI REAS, under the conditions of said grant said
lot wo -a1d revert to the grantors whenever said property was
abandoned for hospital pur po ses , and
,VIE'REAS, the city is very much in need of revenue
for the completion of the General Hospital that could be
derived from thesale of said lot and it is agreed by the
trustees of the Medical Department of the University of
Arimnsas to convey said lot in fee simple to the City of
Little Rock, and in addition thereto maintain acct an all ti .e
bacteriological and pathological clinician, and do all other
laboratory work including analyses of milksnd water, the entire
ex.-pense of said clinician to be paid by the Medical Department
of the University of Arkansas, for and in consideration of the
exclusive right of the teaching faculty of the Medical Depart-
ment of the University of Arkansas to compose the Visiting
Staff of the General Hospital, renewing the same agreement that
was entered into April 1896 by and between the City of Little
Rock and J.A.Dibrell, Trustee of the Arkansas Indnstr ial
University Medical Department, Therefore
BE IT 10ACTEL BY THE CITY COUiTC IL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
R OCK :
SECTION 1. That from and after the passage of this
ordinance,and the acceptance of sarne by the Trustees of the
Medical Department of the University o-f Arkansas, the faculty
of the Medical Department of the University of Arkansas shall
have the exclusive right to use the clinical material at the
Gen !ral Hospital, and compose the Visiting Staff of same;
SECTION 2. That nothing in this ordinance will prevent
any reputable physician or surgeon of -he City of Little Rock
from practicing "pis or her pkpfession on pay cases that are
treated in the General Hospital;
SECTION 3. That all ordinances and parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed, and this ordinance
shall take effect and beco,ne ef -rective from and after its
passage, and acceptance by the Trustees of the Medical Depart-
ment of the Univers it:,,- of Arkansas.
