Exi Ordinance urantinu to Margaret- Powers the Ri`ht to Construct
and Maintain a System of Sewers in Patrick Pourers Addition
to the City of Little Rock, and for other purposes.
..Aereas, an attempt has been glade to form a district
to construct a system of sewers to serve all of Patrick, Powers
l,:ddition to the City of Little hock and it has been ascertained
that the formation of sucin 01striet is impossible on account of
the lour valuation of t.Le property witt:.in such district; and,
',;nereas, the necessity for a system of sewers within
said addition is i:perative and Margaret Powers has agreed to
build said system of sewers upon a franchise being !vranted to
her for said purpose by the Gity of Little stock; Noes, Therefore;
BE' IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK:
Secf:•ion 1. The authority, right and privilege is
hereby granted to Margaret Powers, her heirs, executors, ad -min-
is -rs.tor3 avid assigns, to construct and maintain, at her own ex-
pense, a system. of selrers to serve all of the lots in Patrick
Powers Addition. to the Cites of Little Rock, beinz- approximately
2500 feet of sewerage in said addition; provided, however, that
said sewer shall be constructed under the supervision of the
City Engineer r nd shall ' )e in size sufficient to carry at least
ten per cent more than the sewage of said addition.

w Section 2. The said Margaret Powers shall pay for the
construction of said serer and for the proper maintenance there-
of for a period of five years from the date of the passage of
this ordinance, and during said period no connection shall ne
made therewith without the consent of the said Margaret Powers.
Section 3. The said Margaret Powers may permit prop-
erty owners adjacent to, or such as can connect with said sewer,
to connect therewith at a cost not to exceed 1385.00 for each full
lot, and Ynay prevent any connections therewith by any person,
firm or corporation unless such payment is made to her; provid-
ed, however, no connection shall ever be made thereto which
shall cause the sewage carried. to exceed the capacity of said
sewerage system.
Section 4. At the expiration of a period of five
years from the date of the passa"e of this ordinance, all rights
of the said Margaret Poitiers in said se,YQrrage system built under
this franchise shall cease, and said sewera. ;e system shall. be-
come tho property of the Olty of %ittle Rock; provided, however,
that Daly cents for connection therewit', at the rate of 085.00
per connection, shall thereafter be <na.de. to the 01ty of Little
Roc3c, X25.00 of said sum to be retained by the City of Little
Rock any "60.00 Vlereof +:o ??e paid to t':).e said Margaret Powers
until 43000.00 shall have been paid. to her, it being estimated
that the cost of the construction of said system is :6000.00.
Section 5. The said Margaret Pourers shall signify her
acceptance of the terms of t1hi.s ordinance. in. writing, upon the
original ordinance as ir._trodiiced or within a period of thirty
days upon the nsrgin of the record of ti`lis ordinance in the of-
fice of the City Clerk of the City of Little Rock.
Section C. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
Force from and after its passage.
