An. r inance Aut_aorizing the Board of Public Affairs to Contract
for the Purchase of Several Certain Tracts of Land in
Section Six, Tovms`_2ip One North, Range Twelve '��iest,
to be Used as a Park Site, and for other Purposes.

Vdhereas, under Ordinance Number 3359, the Mayor, the Parks',
and Grounds Committee and a committee of four members of the Lit-
tle Rock Clearing House Association appointed by the Council were
authorized to select a site suitable for park purposes and report
back to the Council; and,
t'rnereas, such joint committee so authorized have reported
back to the Council that as a part of such park site, in addition
to the tracts heretofore selected, they have selected several
certain tracts adjacent to the tracts heretofore purchased and
necessary for the,proper laying out and construction of the part:
contemplated in said Ordinance Number 3359; the ownership, de-
scription, and price to be paid for each tract being as follows:

And Whereas, such selection has been approved in each in-
stance by this Council; NOW, THEREFORE:

BE IT ORDAINED BY TTiE CITY COUNCIL:, OF THE CITY OF LITi'LE ROCK:
Section 1. The BOARD OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS of the City of Lit

tle Rock IS HEREBY AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED TO CONTRACT for the
purchase of ti-e tracts of land above described and of the :500000.00
heretofore appropriated for the purpose of purchasing and equipping
a park site, the ,AYOR AND CITY CLERK, after a contract for each of
such purclases has been made, for a sum not in excess of the pur-
chase price set out in the preamble hereto, and the title to such
tract of land approved by attorneys to be selected by the Mayor and
Board of Public Affairs, ARE HEREBY AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED, in ac-
cordance with the provisions of said Ordinance Number 3359, TO
;EXECUTE AND DELIVER to the owner or owners of each of said tracts
the CITY'S WARRANT OR VIARRANTS FOR THE SUM CONTRACTED `20 BE PAID j
for such tract, to be in full payment for said tract of land so
purchased, title thereto, upon the consummation of said transaction,
to be taken in the name of the City of Little Rock.
Section 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in con-
flict herewith are hereby repealed, and this ordinance shall take
effect and be. in full force from and after its passage.
