An Ordinance Authorizing the Board of Public Affairs to Con-
tract for the Purchase of Several Certain Tracts of Land
in Section Six, Township One North, Range Twelve
West, to be used as a Park: Site, and for
other Purposes.
Whereas, Under Ordinance Number 3359, the Mayor,
the Parks and Grounds Corimittee and a committee of four mem-
bers of the Little Rock Clearing House Association appointed
by the Council were authorized to select a site suitable for
park purposes and report back to the Council; and,
Whereas, Such joint committee so authorized have re-
ported back to the Council that as a part of such park site,
in addition to the tracts heretofore selected, they have se-
lected several certain tracts adjacent to the tracts hereto-
fore purchased and necessary for the proper laying out and
construction of the park contemplated in said Ordinance Num-
ber 3359; the ownership, description, and price to be paid
for each tract being as follows:

And whereas, such selection has been approved in
each instance by this Council; NOW, THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE uITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK:
Section 1. The BOARD OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS of the City of
Little Rock IS HEREBY AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED TO CONTRACT
for the purchase of the tracts of land above described.and
of the $3002000.00 heretofore appropriated for the purpose
of purchasing and equipping a park site, the MAYOR AND CITY
CLERK, after a contract for each of such purchases has been
made, for a sum not in excess of the purchase price set out
in the preamble hereto, and the title to such tract of land
approved by attorneys to be selected by the Mayor and Board
of Public Affairs, ARE HEREBY AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED, in
accordance with the provisions of said Ordinance Number
3359, TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER to the owner or owners of each
of said tracts the CITYtS IVARRANT OR WARRANTS FOR THE SUM
CONTRACTED TO BE PAID for such tract, to be in full payment
for said tract of land so purchased, title thereto, upon
the consummation of said transaction, to be taken in the
name of the City of Little Rock.
Section 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed, and this ordinance
shall take effect and be in full force from and after its
passage.
