An Ordinance Authorizing the Board of Public Affairs to Con-
tract for the Purchase of A Certain Tract of Land in Sec-
tion Six, Township One North, Range Twelve West, to
be Used as a Park Site, and for other purposes.
Whereas, Under Ordinance Number 3359, the Mayor, the
Parks and Grounds Committee and a committee of four members
of the Little Rock Clearing House Association appointed by
the Council were authorized to select a site suitable for
park purposes and report back to the Council; and,
Whereas, Such joint committee so authorized have re-
ported back to the Council that as a part of such park site,
in addition_ to the tracts heretofore selected, they have se-
lected a certain tract adjacent to the tracts heretofore pur-
chased and necessary for the proper laying out and construc-
tion of the park contemplated in said Ordinance Number 3359;
the ownership, description, and price to be paid for such
tract being as follows:

Council; NOVI, THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK
Section 1. The BOARD OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS of the City

of Little Rock IS HEREBY AUTHORIZED All!) DIRECTED TO CONTRACT
for the purchase of the tract of land above described and of
the $300,000.00 heretofore appropriated for the purpose of
purchasing and equipping a park site, the IYAYOR AND CITY
CLERK, after a contract for such purchase has been made, for
a sum not in excess of the purchase price set out in the pre-
amble hereto, and the title to such tract of land approved by
attorneys to be /selected by the miayor and Board of Public Af-
fairs, ARE HEREBY AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED, in accordance with'
the provisions of said Ordinance Number 3359, TO EXECUTE AND
DELIVER to the owner or owners of such tract the CITY'S WAR-
RANT UR WARRANTS FOR THE SUM CONTRACTED TO BE PAID for such
tract, to be in full payment for said tract of land so pur-
chased, title thereto, upon the consurmmation of said transac-
tion, to be taken in the name of the City of Little Rock/
Section 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed, and this ordinance
shall take effect and be in full force from and after its
