3 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND LITTLE ROCK, ARK., REV. CODE §2 -330
4 (1988) TO MODIFY CERTAIN AUTHORITIES AND DUTIES OF THE
5 LITTLE ROCK PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION; AND FOR
6 OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock Board of Directors created the Little Rock Parks and Recreation
9 Commission (the "Commission ") in Little Rock Ordinance No. 18,803 (January 7, 2003); and,
10 WHEREAS, the Commission was created to, among other things, assist the Board of Directors, the
11 City Manager and Parks and Recreation Department with the implementation of the Master Parks Plan;
12 and,
13 WHEREAS, the authorities and duties of the Commission in carrying out its mission need to be
14 clarified to reflect the intent of the Board of Directors and to ensure that the Commission is able to
15 effectively fulfill its mission.
16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
17 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
18 Section 1. Little Rock, Ark., Rev. Code § 2 -330 (1988) is hereby amended as follows:
19 (c) To consult with and advise the Little Rock Parks and Recreation Department
20 Director, and to recommend to the City Manager and Board of Directors park land
21 and facility acquisitions based on standards contained in the Asset Management and
22 Disposition Policy for Little Rock Parks and Recreation Park Land adopted by the
23 Board of Directors, as may be amended.
24 (h) Deleted in its entirety.
25 (i) Deleted in its entirety.
26 Section 2. Severability. In the event any section, subsection, subdivision, paragraph,
27 subparagraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this ordinance is declared or adjudged to be
28 invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining provisions of
29 this ordinance, as if such invalid or unconstitutional provision was not originally a part of this ordinance.
30 Section 3. Repealer. All ordinances, resolutions, bylaws, and other matters inconsistent with this
31 ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
