AN ORDINANCE GRANTING TO THE NENCOL.B HOTEL COuPANY, THEIR
kSSIGNS AND SUCCESSORS, THE RIGHT TO EXCAVATE UNDER THE SIDEWALKS
ON SEVENTH AND MAIN STREETS, ADJACENT TO LOTS 1 AND 2, BLOCK 8,
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, AND TO BUILD A STAIRWAY OY THE SEVENTH
STREET SIDE OF SAID BUILDING, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK:
Section 1. That The Newcomb Hotel CoYr_Dany,
being the owners of Lots 1 and 2, 'lock, in the City of Little
Rock, which lots are situated at the intersection of Seventh and
Hain Streets in said City, and said Company now being engaged in
excavating said lots for the purpose of erecting thereon a hotel
building, and their assigns and successors be and they are hereby
granted permission to excavate under the sidewalks adjacent to
said lots on Seventh and "_ain Streets, said excavation to extend
five feet beyond the property line.
Section 2. That the Newcomb Hotel Company,
their assigns and successors, are also hereby granted permission
to place a stairway, not to exceed four feet in width, from the
sidewalk, on the Seventh Street side of this building, to the
basement thereof.
Section 3. That the excavation hereby per-
mitted shall extend on both :fain Street and Seventh Street, and
the right hereby granted to maintain therein the substructures and
basement of said proposed hotel building for a period of
years.
Section 4. That the Board of Public Affairs
of the City of Little Rock is hereby authorized and instructed to
enter
into and complete a,
lease for
the
use of the
above
mentioned
space
by The Newcomb Hotel
Company
