LITTLE ROCK Ar?D FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WMREAS, The City Government of Little Rock realizes
the importance and the necessity of a program and system of
recreation in Little Rock for the benefit of all within the
corporate limits and desires to further the work in an enlarged
and comprehensive nianner; and
WBEREAS, The Little Rock School Board has invited the
municipal government to appoint two members on the Health and
Recreation Corinission of the School Board and to serve also as
members of the Advisory Committee; No:-r, Therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY TTY] CITY COUNCIL OP TIFE, CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, A.1F=SA,S
Section 1. That the Department of Recreation of the
City of Little Rock is herby created and established with a
supervisor to be selected and paid by the Little Rock School
Board and the City of Little mock shall grant what aid its bud-
get will permit; during the year 1930, and during the year 1931
a budget for this department shall be provided for.
Section 2. The Depar -tient of Recreation of the City
of Little Rock shall consist of two members, eachto be selected
by the Mayor. One of said members shall be a member of the City
Council; the other -,ember may be a citizen, not a member of the
Council. The t errs, of of fic e of s ai d members sh al 1 be four
years and the first appointees hereunder shall serve two and
four years respectively.
Section 3. ?7hen the members of said Department shall
have been selected as herein specified, the I:ayor shall certify
such selection to the President of the Little Rock School Board,
to be appointed by him as members of the Health and Recreation

Section 4. That this Ordinance shall become effective
from and after the date of its passage.
