AN ORDINANCE
FOR THE BETTER PROTECTION OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK IN THE MATTER OF
PROPOSED CHANGES OF EXISTING GRADES OF STREETS BY III {gPROVEMENT DISTRICTS
Be It Ordained by the City Council of the
City of Little Rock, Arkansas:
Section 1. That hereafter it shall be the duty of the City
Engineer to carefully examine the plans and specifications filed by all
Street Improvement Districts, and to make written report to the City
Council calling specific detailed attention to any of such plans which
shall be found to include proposed changes in the existing grades of
the streets to be improved.,with his advice as to possible damage to
abutting property on account of such changes in grade in case such plans
should be approved and adopted.
Section 2. That following the filing of plans and specifica-
tions by the commissioners of Street Improvement Districts, no further
action shall be taken by the City Council in the organization of such
district or the fixing of assessment of benefits until the filing of
the report by the City Engineer called for in Section 1 hereof and
formal action thereon by the Council.
Section 3. That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed, and this ordinance stall take
effect and be in force from and after its passage.
