AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 4805 OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, 3Y CHANGING THE NAME OF ROBINSON DRIVE TO CANTRELL R4.kB.�T�
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Little Rock,
or December 8, 1930, passed Ordinance No. 4805, changing the name
of Cantrell Road, River Road and Q Street, in. the City of Little
Rock, to Robinson Drive, and
WHEREAS, the opening of what was formerly known as
Cantrell Road and the paving of River Road and Q Street have
largely resulted from the efforts of our fellow citizen, D. H.
Cantrell, extending over a period of years, and
WHEREAS, Senator Jos. T. Robinson has requested that
the road named for him be restored to and renamed Cantrell Road,
and
WHEREAS, this Council acknowledges that this driveway
was initiated by Mr. Cantrell and was largely the result of his
efforts and should be named in his honor; therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK:
Section 1. That the name of Lincoln Avenue be and the
same is hereby restored and given to that part of what is now nam-
ed Robinson Drive, to -wit: From Cross Street to the new viaduct
over the railroad tracks of the :Missouri Pacific Railway and the
Rock Island Railway.
Section 2. That the name of Cantrell Road be and the
same is hereby restored and given to that part of Robinson Drive
commencing with said viaduct and extending west to the City Limits.
Section 3. That all ordinances and parts of ordinances
and particularly Ordinance No. 4805 be and the same are hereby
repealed, and this ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage.
