4865M ORDINANCE go.::-'. 4865 AN ORDIXXNCE PROVIDING FOR AN ANNUAL LICENSE OR FRANCHISE FEE TO BE PAID FOR CUTTING THE CURBS OF SIDEWALKS WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF LITTLE ROCK. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK: SECTIONII, That from and after the passage of this ordinance it shall be unlawful for any person to ciat the curb of any sidewalk without first having secured a permit therefor from the Superintendent of Public 'irorks. By cutting a curb is meant removing an existing curb or failing to lay a curb at the time of construction of any drive way in Little Rock. SECTION 2. Permits above referred to shall be secured in every instance where a curb is cut and shall be paid for at the rate of 50 cents per running foot for ever3T foot 6f curb so cut except that any one piece of property or place of bus- iness shall be granted said permit without charge where the cut shall not exceed .tuce v& feet in length upon any on�e / street. For SECTION i,/ Any curb cutKwhich shall exceed 10 feet in length or cohere there is more than one curb cut into any one place of there business upon any one street, /shall be paid an annual franchise tax o6q!�e per running foot, per year. All of the fees herein declared to be due shall be paid for annually in advance begin- ning with June 1,1931 and where the proposed curb out shall be in existence for six months or less before June 1 of each year one half of the tax herein designated shall be collected for that year. SECTION ;jW. The City Collector shall keep a separate book wherein all curb cuts are listed and which shall show the payment or- non-payment of the tax herein ordained, SECTION The unsafe condition of sidewalks where curb cuts now exist make an inspection thereof immediately necessary and an a emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in force from and after its passage, SECTION ;,9,,- Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall upon conviction be fi d in any sum not less. than $2 ,04� Passed: attest; A�roved; 1 erk. �uayoT
