BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUACIL OF THE CI`T'Y OF LITTLE
ROCK, iRKA YSAS:
Section 1. That Pfeifer Bros. of Little Rock,
Arkansas, owners and lessees of the north 4 Feet of Lot o
and all of Lots 10, 11, and 12 in Block 72, Oriuinwl City
of Little Rock, be and they are hereby granted permi scion
to excavate under the sidewalks on Seventh Street and on
Main Street adjacent to said lots, Baia excavation to ex-
tend including basement wall, not to exceed ten (10) feet
East of the East line of said lots, and ten (10) feet
Norta of the North Line of said Lot 12, the purpose being
to erect on said property a buildint; a-. id the corner ad-
jacent to said lots shall be cut so as not to interfere
with a twelve —foot radius curb. Also the steps leading
to the basement shall be thirty —nine feet from the East
property line.
The right is also granted to Pfeifer Eros, their
heirs and assigns, to maintain in s.aia excavation, for a
perioa of fifty (50) years from the date of the passage
and approval of this ordinance, sub— structures and basement
of said proposed building.
Section 2. That the Board of Public Affairs,
of the City of Little Rock, is hereby authorized and
i"stl _acted to enter into PIQ complete a lease for toe use
of the abovemenzioned space under the sidewalks, by Pfeifer
Bros, their heirs and assigns, for .a period of fifty (50)
years from the date of t'_ ^_e passage and approval of this
ordinance, at the rental of One Dollar ("1.00) a ;.Teas.

In erecting the building for our new store on the Southwest corner
of 7th and Main Streets, we would like for you to give us the
privilege of excavating twelve feet under the sidewalk on 7th
Street, as well as Main Street.
We would also like for you to grant us this request without the
annual payment as we are going to a big expense in erecting and
operating this building. (�
We would also ask your Honorable Body to grant us the privilege � f`
of putting steps in the sidewalk leading to the Basement, which
will extend five feet and be the same as we have at the present
time.
We will appreciate your consideration along the above lines and
feel that we are promoting the very best interests of Little Rock
in erecting this building at the present time and would like your
full cooperation along these lines.
