136592013021912 Received: 3/25/2013 8:32:57 AM Recorded: 03/25/2013 08:34:35 AM Filed & Recorded in Official Records of Larry Crane, PULASKI COUNTY CIRCUIT /COUNTY CLERK 1 RESOLUTION NO. 13,659 Fees $20.00 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO 4 EXECUTE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS TO ACQUIRE RESIDENTIAL 5 PROPERTY LOCATED AT 5023 WEST 10`h STREET, FOR A 6 PURCHASE PRICE OF THIRTY -NINE THOUSAND DOLLARS 7 ($39,000.00), FOR USE AS PARK PROPERTY IN WAR MEMORIAL 8 PARK; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS, in October 2011, the Little Rock Board of Directors authorized the negotiation of the 11 sale of 3.82 acres of the City's interest in Ray Winder Field to UAMS and committed to reinvesting the 12 sale proceeds to the purchase of land in order to offset the loss of city park acreage; and, 13 WHEREAS, the residential property located at 5023 West 10'h Street is one (1) of twelve (12) parcels 14 identified as being west of Jonesboro Drive and located south of Interstate 630, and this acquisition by the 15 City will help to accommodate future park development that will complement the Central Arkansas 16 Library System's Children's Library; and, 17 WHEREAS, the acquisition of this property represents the eighth of the twelve parcels to become a 18 part of the War Memorial Park acreage; and, 19 WHEREAS, the City has negotiated the purchase of the property at 5023 W. 10`h Street for the 20 amount of Thirty-Nine Thousand Dollars ($39,000.00); 21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 22 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 23 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to execute appropriate 24 documents to acquire property at 5023 West 10`' Street, for the amount of Thirty-Nine Thousand Dollars 25 ($39,000.00), for use as a public park for the future expansion of War Memorial Park. 26 Section 3. Funds for this purchase are available from the proceeds of the sale of the City's interest in 27 Ray Winder Field to the Board of Trustees of the University of Arkansas. 28 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 29 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 30 31 32 33 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the resolution. %r�`�"'��'b Section 5.
